CFMoto poised to take boost market share
Chinese manufacturer CFMoto is looking to crack the Australian ATV market. The power sports manufacturer has gone global and is offering a range of ATV, UTV and SSV products at competitive market prices.
CFMoto officially hit the Australian market in 2010 with its range of all-terrain vehicles, utility-terrain vehicles and side-by-side vehicles.
But it has been in the business for more than 20 years with distribution to Europe, North America, South America, New Zealand, Africa and its local market in China.
CFMoto Australia director Michael Poynton said he believed introducing a new brand and getting traction in the tough Australian ATV market could be difficult for some but in the case of CFMoto the transition had been seamless.
“We’re getting amongst it all, to the vast corners of Australia and showing customers first-hand what a quality product the CFMoto is,” Poynton said.
He said it was the focus on quality, features, value and after-sales support that had seen the brand quickly make its mark in agricultural Australia – backed up by selling 9000 units in little more than three years.
“Customer satisfaction is incredibly high and we are really beginning to see that good old word-of-mouth advertising is working, especially in the agriculture sector,” he said.
Manufacturing is based in Hangzhou, China, near Shanghai. The company has grown to be one of the world’s leading suppliers of power sports products and dedicates more than 25% of its 1300-strong workforce to research and development.
CFMoto produces 600,000 vehicles annually and the ATV, UTV and SSV ranges in Australia are supported by a national dealer network.
“Our dealers understand the product and can provide expert knowledge, advice and access to genuine parts and accessories,” he said.
“Genuine replacement and service parts improve performance and reliability and reduce overall owning and operating costs.”
CFMoto's ATV Range
The range of ATVs include the CF500 Classic, X5 Farm Spec, X6 and the powerful X8, which Poynton says “will work with you from sun up to sun down to get the job done”.
“In 2013 the X5 Farm Spec was awarded highest selling ATV in its category and the newest model, the CF500 Classic, also received fantastic reviews and market feedback too,” he added.
The vehicles were built for work with a liquid-cooled single cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve 500cc engine delivering exceptional power.
“Equipped with a carburettor for simple maintenance, the CF500 Classic engine brings the responsive power needed to get the job done,” Poynton said.
“The CF500 Classic feeds its power through a CVTech-IBC continuously variable transmission, and features selectable drive modes – 2WD/4WD, a lockable differential and a selectable low-high-neutral-reverse pattern.
“Rugged powertrain and factory fitted genuine accessories such as a powerful winch, unbreakable carry racks and complete towing package are fitted as standard.”
CFMoto's UTV Range
Poynton said the UTV range also offered exceptional vehicles “at a great price”.
He said the practical U5 and U6 models were built for work in harsh conditions and the top of the line U8 was also loaded with power, backed by an 800cc water cooled engine.
“With a full towing package, it doesn’t matter what you’re pulling – and with intelligent safety features such as disc braking and powerful engine breaking, you’ll be the master of whatever you tow,” Poynton said.
“The U8 comes standard with selectable drive modes, differential lock, 14-inch wheels, adjustable independent suspension and a durable roof and windscreen.
“The UTV range was built for work, which was where the company’s dedication to research and development can really be appreciated.”
CFMoto's SSV Range
If crawling over hills, diving through mud or racing across brutal hard pack is more your thing, a CFMoto SSV is up to the challenge.
Poynton said the SSV range included the Z6, Z6EX and Z8, which “will take you anywhere you want to go in mother nature’s playground”.
He said from hard rutted dirt to steep grades of rock, the Z8 would tackle the most unforgiving terrain.
“No one will argue the power and torque of the water cooled, electronic fuel injected 800cc engine or the responsiveness of the adjustable independent suspension package.,” he said.
“Interior features such as contoured bucket seats, harness style belts and full digital instrumentation put you in control.”
Quality Sales and Support
CFMoto products are backed by a two-year limited warranty (a 12-month warranty on CF500 Classic) covering the cost of all parts and labour needed to repair covered components on new CFMoto ATVs, UTVs and SSVs.
The warranty is also transferable, so if you sell your vehicle during the warranty period, the new owner will still be covered.
“The company has one of the largest dealer networks in the country,” Poynton said.
“Chances are [that] a local dealer is in your town so why not drop in, check out the range and have a chat.
“The company’s website has all the latest information and nationwide specials online, so head to www.cfmoto.com.au.”
